SCREEN INCENTIVES
Save Money. Film on the Gold Coast.
WHY THE GOLD COAST
Gold Coast offers some of the most competitive screen production incentives in Australia and the world.
Three tiers of government support, from federal, state through to local council, can be combined to maximise your return. Here's how it works.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES
The Australian Government offers two key tax rebates for international and domestic screen productions, administered by the Office for the Arts.
30% Location Offset. A rebate on qualifying Australian production expenditure. Features require a minimum of $20M QAPE; TV series require $20M with at least $1.5M average per hour. Can be combined with state and territory incentives. No cultural test, no expenditure cap.
30% PDV Offset. A rebate on post, digital and visual effects expenditure with a minimum $500,000 QAPE. Productions do not need to be filmed in Australia to qualify. No cultural test, no expenditure cap.
A production can access only one federal offset per project (Location, PDV, or Producer).
QUEENSLAND'S COMPETITIVE EDGE
Screen Queensland provides a range of programs and incentives to support local production as well as securing production and post-production activities into Queensland.
State incentives stack on top of the federal offsets.
Up to 15% PDV Incentive. A 15% incentive for productions spending a minimum of $250,000 on PDV work in Queensland.
Combined with the federal 30% PDV Offset, that's up to 45% back on your Queensland VP and VFX spend. You can also combine with Gold Coast Film Commission incentives.
Production Attraction Incentive. For fully financed screen projects, spending a minimum of $3.5M in Queensland.
State Payroll Tax Rebate. Available to qualifying productions that have paid Queensland Payroll Tax (4.75% to 4.95%), with a minimum state spend of $3.5M.
Revolving Film Financing Fund (RFFF). Secured loans to cash-flow the Producer Offset, distribution guarantees and pre-sales at competitive rates.
Screen Queensland also offers development funding, location scouting assistance, and a crew and facilities directory.
